1 every city harbors a community of creative spirits such as artists, musicians, writers, performers and other contributors to beauty and culture most of whom work at menial jobs in order to survive every city also harbors a flock of parasitic money-vultures seeking to take advantage of these naturally shy and commercially naive creative spirits money-vultures excell at seducing large amounts of cash out of creative spirits by promising to promote their work..... a promise on which they seldom deliver since their main objective is to enrich only themselves money-vultures come disguised as literary agents ----- museum curators 2 art festivals charge exhorbitant fees to ARTISTS willing to pay such fees in the hope that they'll sell some of their work to the people who come to enjoy those festivals when without these ARTISTS there couldn't be any festivals to begin with and then after having extruded a fortune from ARTISTS who usually live below the poverty level those festivals proceed to donate some of their profits to a wealthy charity organization 3 once upon a time millions of HUMANS walked and played in their beautiful forests some brought tents and stayed overnight some lived their entire lives in the peaceful silence of nature where no one ever called them the homeless ones these HUMANS treasured the healing power of shimmering lakes surrounded by protective mountains and when they shared the morning sun with birds and rabbits they found some much-needed refuge from the constant noise and sometime-cruelty of city streets but then suddenly the wealthy FOREST GUARDIANS decided to force all HUMANS out of their own wilderness lands and to prevent them from returning unless they first paid large sums of money and to make sure that this was being done the wealthy FOREST GUARDIANS installed thousands of poles and ropes and hideous fences with nasty signs demanding fees and even nastier signs that warned of dire consequences should HUMANS not comply with those demands the HUMANS started to feel terribly sad after that and even though they tried..........they simply couldn't understand just how it had come about that the wealthy FOREST GUARDIANS who had been hired by the HUMANS to manage their forests and who received billions of dollars a year from them were now making sure that the HUMANS could no longer enjoy their own beautiful wilderness lands 4 at a local fundraising gala people danced to a really great band while beautiful paintings and sculptures were being auctioned off producing millions of dollars for the new dog museum in town when I asked the musicians how much they were getting paid for this night they said they had donated their music in exchange for free publicity when I asked the event's organizers how they'd gotten all that beautiful art they said that it had been donated by starving artists hoping for recognition wondering why the least wealthy members of society were always asked to give their work away for free I started to think of "WHAT IF's": WHAT IF Investment Companies donated some stock and bond portfolios? WHAT IF Attorneys donated some legal representation? WHAT IF Physicians, Dentists, and Chiropractors donated some medical care? WHAT IF Developers were to donate a brand-new home? WHAT IF Hotels donated a week of free lodging? WHAT IF Universities donated a semester's worth of classes? WHAT IF Landlords donated a year's worth of rent? WHAT IF Airlines donated round-trip tickets to exotic destinations? WHAT IF a town's Media donated free publicity for all its artists and musicians? still thinking of "WHAT IF's" I walked outside and saw that a Hopi carver in the parking lot had displayed some kachina dolls on a blanket on the ground hoping to sell them for $30. a piece but when I returned to the lot an hour later the Hopi carver was gone and someone said that the gala's organizers had him arrested for selling art without a permit 5 every community in the USA contains and supports a natural ECONOMIC HIERARCHY that's self-created by all the members of our population. The very essence of American freedom, is that we can choose to be whatever we desire to be. Or, in the immortalized words of Jimi Hendrix: "I'm the one who's gonna die when it's time for me to die so let me live my life the way I want to." One of the most vital groups of individuals within this hierarchy, has always been those who fix and maintain things..........our mechanics, our carpenters and plumbers, our electricians, painters, gardeners and all those other independent and proud professionals who keep everything running smoothly. The word "handyman" is unique to our society, and being someone who has the expertise to fix just about anything, has always been a much-admired and well-paid trade. Then, suddenly, a large number of untrained individuals entered our towns and cities and decided to grab for themselves, the jobs that were not theirs to take. These FOREIGN NATIONALS simply walked across our borders and offered to do all of our repair and maintenance jobs for a tenth of the price, thereby destroying our freedom-based system of ECONOMIC HIERARCHY which has now been totally subverted by those who illegally employ such foreign nationals and who don't give a damn about anything but their own ability to quadruple their profits without having to deliver a better product or service. And in this quiet, seldom-publicized yet totally devastating way, an entire segment of the American population has been deprived of its rightful livelihood, and of the freedom to "live their lives the way they want to" How infinitely sad is that?
