Inspired by my participation in a group show titled,
"An Exploration of Home and Housing through Art"
I got the idea
to explore
"home and housing"
for
art itself
which is how the concept of
ARTchitecture
got to be born

this
concept
then evolved into
a
structure
designed
to
contain
my own art
in
a
vertical
exhibition space
that soon morphed
into
a
soaring tower
which
allowed for
10 of my
infinity works
to
be
displayed
on a very small
area
of
floor space

the
best thing about
these
ARTchitecture
towers
is that
they can be
easily
dismantled
and
resurrected
and that
I can ship them
in a
10"x10"x10"
box
for
mini
structures
or in a
40"x40"x12"
box
for the
12-foot-high
giants

after
spending
a lot of time
perfecting the
technical aspects
of the original
ARTchitecture
towers
I suddenly got
the urge
to make a
much smaller
version
that would
display
several
interconnected
concepts
which
turned out to be
so cool
that
I'm creating them
non-stop

unlike
the
utilitarian
purpose
of the original
ARTchitecture
structures
these
mini towers
are
developing
their own
style
and have
provided me
with
a
brand-new
form
on which
to
experiment
with an
infinite amount
of
new
concepts

so
from
a desire
to create
something
really special
that would
express my
appreciation
for the gift
of
an
exhibit
I received
the
return gift
of
having
discovered this
strange new medium
through which to
express
my
creative
compulsion

ARTchitecture
permits
creators
galleries
collectors
and
exhibitors
to show
dozens of works
in a small
fraction of
the usual space
required and
can be used to
display
paintings
photographs
flat sculptures
minimalist shapes
conceptual works
drawings
watercolors
experimental forms
prints
and
product design

the weight and nature of what will be displayed on ARTchitecture structures predicates the materials used in producing them.....my own pieces have a wood base on which the 2 bottom panels are securely anchored.....all of the interlocking panels [as well as the roof] were cut out of foamcore

galleries and other exhibitors should use pine or plywood throughout.....and I'm even dreaming of having a unit fabricated out of steel for exterior displays

besides a base and a roof
all ARTchitecture structures have
2 bottom panels
2 top panels
and
4, 8, 12, or 16 center panels
all of which
are scored as shown below

notice how the amount of
panels used
always increases by four:
this
serves to maintain the aesthetic integrity
of my ARTchitecture structures

________________

----> when resurrecting an ARTchitecture tower.....hold each panel with two hands and gently jiggle it into both slots at the same time.....never force it

----> the roof is designed to fit into its alotted space

----> do not display foamcore in the sun which may cause it to warp
